Clifton Park Taekwondo offers Taekwondo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for kids & adults. We also offer Adult Martial Arts fitness classes, including cardio kickboxing.

Tae Kwon Do is the art of self defense that originated in Korea. It is recognized as one of the oldest forms of martial arts in the world, reaching back over 2,000 years. The name was selected for its appropriate description of the art: Tae  (foot), Kwon  (hand), Do  (art).Today, it has become a global sport that has gained an international reputation, and stands among the official games in the Olympics.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport based on ground fighting and submission holds. BJJ focuses on the skill of taking an opponent to the ground & controlling the opponent by using the principles of leverage, angles, pressure and timing. The desired outcome of Jiu-Jitsu is to achieve a non-violent submission of one’s opponent.

MEET OUR COACH
Adam Barrett
Owner and Chief Instructor
Owner & Head instructor Master Adam Barrett is a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo & Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Brian Beaury Jiu Jitsu. He has over 35 years of martial arts experience and still actively competes in TKD, MMA and Jiu Jitsu.
He has a 5-5 amateur mixed martial record & has won both the the feather & Bantam weight cage wars amateur titles, a former Junior Olympic 1995 Gold and 1996 Bronze medalist. He was a member of the U.S. Cup Taekwondo Team in 1997 & 1998 and a former US Air Force Taekwondo Team member. Adam was a Silver medalist in the 1997 Brazilian Olympic Festival and competed in the first round of the 2000 Olympic Trials.
